BASSANO DEL GRAPPA

In about an hour's drive you will find yourself in one of the most beautiful towns of the Veneto, Bassano del Grappa. This, at the foot of the Valsugana and the Asiago Plateau, is characterized by its famous Ponte degli Alpini, or Ponte Vecchio, which connects the city from the division created by the River Brenta. The bridge, destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, currently recalls the project carried out in 1569 by Andrea Palladio. It is therefore still made of wood and has a truly unique architectural structure.

In Bassano del Grappa you can not miss a taste of the typical local grappa in the historic center and/or a visit to the Museum of Grappa with tasting. A walk along the streets of the town will allow you to discover many historical and artisan shops, such as those dedicated to the production of paper or ceramics. Finally, Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Libertà will offer a complete overview of the most beautiful historical buildings in the city.

In Bassano we will then propose the discovery of the most typical food and wine products through a tasting in a historic place. Free lunch.

MAROSTICA

This will be followed by a visit to the nearby town of Marostica, known as the city of chess. It is a city enclosed by a high wall of fourteenth-century origin and entirely passable up to the highest panoramic point on the Upper Castle. Entering instead from the Lower Castle, you will arrive directly on the town square. This has the particularity of being an enormous chessboard. In September, every two years, one of the most important living chess games in Italy takes place here.

Also in this case we recommend to be transported by the most typical tastes of the hills of Marostica as its cherries and products in local wineries.This day includes the presence of a dedicated tour leader, this will allow you to be accompanied among the sites of greatest interest, know anecdotes about what you observe and have a reference person. There is also free time at your disposal to allow you to experience this city.
